|Mary Catherine Ashcraft, 92|
Mary Catherine Kirby Ashcraft, 92, of Falmouth, St. Louis, Mo. and N. Tonawanda/Lewiston, N.Y., passed away on April 11, 2012.
Born in Butler on April 21, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Perry Kirby. Mary was a graduate of Falmouth High School and worked in St. Louis for many years at K & M Industries during WWII and at Famous-Barr department store after her children were grown. She was known for her skill at playing cards and regularly beat us all at family Euchre tournaments.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband of over 50 years, Robert Ellis Ashcraft; and sister, Gertrude Wright.
Surviving are son, Bill (Maddalen) Ashcraft, St. Catharines,
Ontario, Canada; daughter, Ann Ashcraft, Torrance, Calif.; sister, Grace Brooks; grandchildren Robert and Timothy Ashcraft, Michael von Plato,
Erika von Plato (Dave) Gellner and nephews Gary (Linda) Wright, Lexington and Dickie (Betty)Wright, Falmouth.
We miss her gentle nature and carry her in our hearts.
Interment took place alongside her husband at Valhalla Cemetery in St. Louis on April 17, 2012.
