Jacob Clay Hamm, 27, of Folkston, Ga., passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his home.
Born on August 8, 1984, in Harrison County, he was the son of Sandra Burch and Steve Hamm. He graduated from Woodford County High School, and he was the lead stocker with Harvey’s Supermarket in Folkston, Ga. Formerly, he worked at Hamm’s Painting, Inc. in Georgetown. He loved painting, especially restoring old buildings in Folkston and he was an avid University of Kentucky fan.
Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Jackie Steven Hamm and his great-grandmother, Pauline Williams.
Surviving in addition to his parents are son, Kent Jacob Hamm; sister, Christin (Geoff) Saylor of Cynthiana; brother, Franz “C.J.” Wellington of Georgetown; grandparents, Betty (Dennis) Perkins of Jamaica, Va., Wanda Newman of Georgetown and Jeanie Hornsby of Deltaville, VA; nieces and nephews, Keynan Hamilton, Brooklynn Gaunce, Hunter Gaunce, Matthew Saylor, Kelsey Saylor; and a host of extended family and friends who also loved him deeply.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, with Rev. Larry Jones officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Keith Wells, Robin Perkins, Eli Hopkins, Paul Hamm, David Hamm, Johnny Turner, Dean O’Brien, David Kearns, and Jimmy Howard.
Interment took place at the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.
