The talented running duo of Evan Stewart and Klaber Wolfe represented Pendleton County at the state meet held at Bourbon Park in Paris on October 28.
The two were matched up with a total of 255 other runners from Class 2A. Stewart and Wolfe would compete in a long distance race of 5,000 meters, which is the equivalent of 3.1 miles. Wolfe, who is a freshman, finished 104th overall with a time of 19.07 while junior Stewart placed 122nd with a time of 19.23.
Team head coach, Craig Chaplin, who now concludes his 47th season of coaching Cross Country, says he’s proud of his two participants and is excited about the potential of next year’s team.
“We’ll bring everybody back next year. There is a lot of talent and youth on this team and I know they are dedicated to getting better.”
