Pendleton sweeps Polar Bears off the tennis courts

    Both the girls and boys tennis teams had their first home match of the season with Bracken County. Both teams beat the Polar Bears 5-0.
    On the girls side, singles were Maddie Duff winning 8-0, Shelby King winning 8-4 and Alana Vickerstaff 8-0.
    Both doubles pairing had an easy time. Lilly Brinkdoepke and Kaitlin Aulick won 8-1 and Emmie Dunn and Ally Hall won 8-0.
    On the boys side, Jude Hall playing as #1 singles won 8-6 while Ethan Aulick, #2 singles, had the closest match but won 9-7. Jacob Baird put his archery bow aside for the day and won #3 singles 8-4.
    Both doubles team easily dispatched their opponents. #1 doubles Jordan Pearson and Eric Hurst won 8-1. Tredyn Thomas and Tommy Nitschke  won 8-0.
    The girls kept on the winning side while the boys fell in a tight match against Boone County.
    Duff played against a  young lady who has been to state twice and fell 2-6, 0-6 while King lost an extended set 6-8.
    Vickerstaff won the only singles matchup at #3. She won 8-0.
    Brinkdoepke and Aulick won 6-2, 6-2 with Emmie Dunn and Ally Hall winning 8-5.
    The two doubles victories gave Pendleton the 3-2 victory over Boone County.
    The boys also lost the top two singles matches with Mason Hardy falling 1-8 and Hall 4-8. Aulick easily won #3 singles 8-0.
    Thomas and Nitschke won the #2 doubles match 8-4 tying the match at 2-2.
    Boone County would win the #1 doubles matchup 4-6, 2-6 and claiming the match. Pearson and Hurst played as the #1 doubles.
    “All our girls are freshmen and sophomores, so we have so much potential for the future and the girls are playing some great tennis right now,” said Head Coach Lisa Feltner.
    She continued, “Boys are playing very well and this week should give us a better idea of what our region looks like in both boys and girls side.”
