PC Bowling makes back-to-back trips to KHSAA State

Last year the  Pendleton County Bowling Team finished as runner up in the Region 5 finals and moved on to the state tournament.  Koby Brewer earned a trip to state in the individual tournament where he ended up placing 6th.
Coach Aaron Biddle praised his team and said he expected to be back. His prediction was not wrong as the Wildcats rolled their way through the region tournament taking out Campbell County in the Championship and seeing Koby and Kyan qualify as individual participants this season.
In a year that was shortened due to the COVID 19 protocols the team persevered and found ways to get in practice and focus on their goals.
The team being limited to eight members instead of the normal 12 and Kyan and Koby qualifying  as individuals Coaches Biddle and Ronnie Hutchison were feeling confident about their chances.
The team members bowled for seeding with the following scores: Karson Enzweiler 181, Bradley Brann 143, Bradford Peoples 160, Jared Mayes 171, Leroy Bryant 174, Kyan Brewer 160, Trevor Colvin 182, Koby Brewer 179.
After scores were tallied Pendleton County was seeded 12th in the tournament. They ended up facing number five seed St. Xavier, champions from Region 4, losing in three 224-161, 225- 218, and 203- 174.
On the individual side Koby Brewer scored a 549 which saw him finish in 22nd place while his brother Kyan finished with a 541 putting him in 24th place in the tournament.
Coach Biddle discussed his team’s performance over the year, “The state tournament is quite an exciting experience and it feels good knowing that you are there with the best bowlers in Kentucky. We didn’t exactly get the results we wanted too, but the moment wasn’t too big  for us either. We actually bowled better as a group than we did at Regional Tournament. We got beat, we didn’t beat ourselves.
Again, I like our chances to return to state next year. We still have a very young team that has been able to experience going to state twice now. We will come back next season driven as ever to get back to the state level once again.”
