The Volleycats took on Mason County on Monday, September 12 at home and beat them in two matches: 25-11, 25-16.
Senior Kylie Richardson led the team with five aces, 20 assists, two kills, and two digs. Senior Savannah Shimkowiak had four aces, three points, four kills, and five digs. Senior Cara Stewart contributed with three digs, two blocks, six kills and three aces.
Volleyball would play again on Tuesday, September 13, at home against Bracken County and took another win in two matches: 25-11, 25-16.
Senior Kennadi Mayer led the team with seven kills, 13 attacks, five digs, two aces, and three blocks. Sophomore Madison Verst contributed eight back row kills, 12 back row attacks, and 17 digs. Junior Lindsey Arkenau followed up with 17 assists, 31 attempts, two digs, and two points.
The Volleycats were currently on a winning streak as they traveled Thursday, September 15 to play against St. Patrick. Pendleton would earn another win: 25-14, 21-25, 25-14.
This girls have been playing some great volleyball and are exciting to watch on the court. The team spirit and compassion they have for the game is shown in every game they play.
Sophomore Madison Verst had 12 kills, 18 digs, and one ace. Sophomore Allison Aulick had 11 kills, nine digs, and one ace. Senior Katelin Aulick had seven kills, 14 digs, and two aces. Senior Cara Stewart had six kills, four blocks, and three digs.
Another Ladycat ended last week ranked in the state as Kennadi Mayer holds the #1 spot in Kentucky for aces.
The Volleycats next game will be Monday, September 19, away against District Rival Harrison County. They will then play again on Tuesday, September 20 at home against Newport and at home again on Thursday, September 22 against Bellevue.
