First Meet for PHS Track and Field

The PCHS track team had their first meet on March 23 at the Bracken County Border Clash.

The PC girls placed fifth with 2.67 points and the boys placed fourth with 28 points. Other teams in the competition were Milford, Harrison County, Mason County, Augusta, and Bracken County. “The Polar Bears really lived up to their name at the Bracken Border Bash!” said Coach Sara Remley. “We are so proud of our athletes and supporters for ‘bearing’ the cold weather and windy elements all day. Way to show your Wildcat pride!”

Points earners for the Ladycats were Katie Black who placed sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14:50 and second place in the pole vault with a jump of 6-0 feet. The 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Kenadi Weinel, McKenna Morgan, Baylee Fields, and Kinsley McNay placed sixth.

For the Wildcats, points earners were the 4x800 meter relay team consisting of Miles Collins, Klaber Wolfe, Tanner Morris, and Levi Wolfe who placed sixth with a time of 11:04. The 4x100 meter relay team also earned points with a time of 51.94. Members of the team include Brayden Tucker, Drew Metzner, Evan Stewart, and Gabe Luton. In the 400-meter race, Evan Stewart placed second with a time of 59:36 and Brayden Tucker placed fourth with a time of 59:78. Klaber Wolfe earned points in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:27 and placed seventh in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:36. Brayden Tucker placed 10th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12:48. Tyler Redden placed third in the discus with a distance of 101-5 feet and took 1st place in the shot put with a distance of 41-11.50 feet.

For the Unified team, Tevin Mudd and Ben Brossart placed first in the 2x50 meter race. Jeffery Simpson and Jamison Tucker took second while Ruby Mullins and Kinsley McNay took third. In the 2x200 meter relay, Jamison Tucker and Jeffery Simpson placed first while Ben Brossart and Tevin Mudd placed second. Jeffery Simpson, Jamison Tucker, Ruby Mullins, and Kinsley McNay placed first in the 4x100 meter relay while Ben Brossart, Tevin Mudd, Drew Metzner, and Brian Lynch placed second. For the long jump, Jeffery Simpson and Jamison Tucker placed first with a combined distance of 24-6.50 feet and Dylan Beckett and Lucas Dennison placed second with a combined distance of 19-6 feet. For shot put, Tyler Redden and Brian Lynch placed first with a combined distance of 59.2.50 feet.
