Former Pendleton County standout and 2019 Mr. Basketball winner Dontaie Allen has chosen his next stop for what will be his final year of NCAA eligibility.
Allen, 23, posted on social media last week that he'll be taking to his talents to the University of Wyoming to play under new head coach Sundance Wicks. Allen had spent the previous two seasons at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.
Allen becomes the 13th and final member of the Wyoming Cowboys roster entering the 2024-25 season. The Cowboys finished last season with a 15-17 record playing in the Mountain West Conference. Last season while at WKU, Allen led the team shooting over 40 percent from three-point range and averaged over eight points per contest for a Hilltoppers squad that made it's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in a decade.
This season's Wyoming team will feature a roster that is made up of nine transfer portal newcomers.
