Things are starting to look up for the Ladycats as they come off a 3-0 week. This could potentially be the turning point of their season, and it would be a fantastic timing with the district tournament three weeks away. The team now sits at 10-9 on the season.

Last week the Ladycats beat Mason County 2-0 (28-26, 25-17). The offense was evenly distributed between the work of Skyla Harrison, Allison Aulick, and Kearstin Mayer. Junior Allison Aulick contributed three blocks in the win as well. The team accumulated an impressive 13 service aces. The defense was led by libero Madison Verst with 15 digs, and Skyla Harrison followed her up with seven digs.

The Ladycats picked up another district win in beating the Lady Jackets of Nicholas County 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-23). The team was extremely efficient at the net; Allison Aulick led all hitters with nine kills, and Skyla Harrison had eight. Lindsey Arkenau dished out 12 assists, and Allison Aulick had eight. The team had a great serving outing once again, accumulating a total of 16 aces. The defense was led by Madison Verst with 14 digs, Skyla Harrison with eight digs, and Kearstin Mayer with six. The Ladycats will look to capture a second district win over Nicholas County on September 30th, which will determine their district seeding for the tournament.

The Ladycats traveled to Bracken County and swept the Polar Bears 3-0 (25-7, 25-18, 25-22) to end their week. Allison Aulick led all hitters with 11 kills, while Gracie Cotterman and Skyla Harrison each had five as well. The setting duo of Lindsey Arkenau and Allison Aulick combined for 15 of the team’s 19 assists. The defense came to play; Madison Verst racked up an impressive 20 digs, Kearstin Mayer had 15, Skyla Harrison had 10, and Allison Aulick had nine.

The Ladycats have two games this week and will be on the road for both. On Monday, September 18th, they will travel to Newport to take on the lady Wildcats. On Wednesday, September 20, the team will be on the road again to take on the Lady Braves of Grant County. Fans can catch the Ladycats back in action on their home court again on September 25 at 7:00pm as they take on Gallatin County.
