Ralph M. Pettit, 97, of Butler, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at his home cared for by his family.
He was born in Campbell County, KY on September 23, 1924, son to the late Henry and Edna Harris Pettit. Ralph was a United States Army Veteran of the WWII and Korean War. He was an avid farmer, worked for Allis Chalmer Company, and retired from Kroger where he worked for 32 years. He was a member of the Butler Baptist Church and attended Grants Lick Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Turner Pettit; son Michael Pettit; brothers Henry, Raymond, James, and Cliston Pettit, and sisters Wilma Schroeder and Irene Mullins.
Loving father of Melanie (Michael) Crail and Marcia (Mike) Middleton and loving brother of Helen Hutchison. Loving grandfather of Cliff Crail, Joe (Gerri) Crail, Sarah (Mike Brown) Stubbs and Erica (Mike) Joering. Loving great grandfather of JoAnna, Katelyn, Nina, Riley, and Jodi.
The visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. A second visitation will be held at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2 at Grants Lick Baptist Church with the funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m., also at the church.
Interment will take place at Butler Cemetery with full military honors, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home.
