Butler Christ Community
Greetings friends, praying for all of you during this unfriendly weather. Many of us have been staying in and many churches have been closed. Hopefully the weather will become more friendly and we can get back to church again.
Our church doors were opened on Sunday to a good crowd eager to get caught up with each other. Pastor Ron spoke to us about angels and the song "Angels Among Us" came to mind.
On February 13 the girls will have a lock in.
On February 18 we will be having an Ash Wednesday service starting at 7. All are welcome to start their Lent with us.
Please keep Mary Ann, Ashton, Ben, Brenda, Kay’s sister, Ruth, Jeremiah and all our other prayer requests in your thoughts and prayers this week.
God bless you and yours as you go about your week, and btw keep your eyes open for angels among us.

Oh, the joy of being in church after our past week of snow. We had several brave the cold today.
Bro. Kevin's message was "Keeping Heart" using Luke 18:1-8 as text. Losing heart is not instantaneous --delay in prayer life can cause us to question God.
Our 2026 Ladies Day Committee meeting is February 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Our Ladies Bible Study will meet February 18 & 25 at 6:30 p.m.
Our "Happy Birthday Party" for everyone will be February 22. We'll have a pot-luck noon meal (with cake n' ice cream, too). Come join us.
Prayer concerns include Lisa Herron, Lisa Blevins, Margaret Harper, Tirah Clemons, Shawn Cook, Jesse Browning, Marla Lemmon, Lori Thaxton, Luther Blevins, Robert Napier, "Doc" Owen Collins, Keith Belcher, Gary Barnard, Debbie Jeans, our shut-ins and our country.
Our sympathy to loved ones of Randy Barlow, Jim Hamilton, Teddy Hurst, Vivian Snodgrass, May Ann Ammerman, and Sally Pape.

Bro. Mark’s message was from Ephesians 6:10-12. "The Great Deception!" Your strength must come from God’s mighty power within you. Put all of God’s armor on so that you are able to stand safe against all tricks of Satan. We are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against evil wicked spirits of the unseen world. We are in a battle. At times it’s hard to see the spiritual side. You will need the strong belt of truth. Breastplate of God’s approval. Shoes that speed you on as you spread the Good News of peace. Faith as your shield. Helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God!

Vision Sunday marked an exciting moment for our church family, bringing warmth and energy despite the cold weather outside. The service celebrated the launch of two new initiatives aimed at making a meaningful impact in our community: "Reach the Forgotten," focused on serving those often overlooked, and a Health Initiative designed to support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
The morning was filled with inspiration, unity, and a renewed sense of purpose as members came together to embrace the vision and look ahead with hope. Church leaders emphasized the importance of compassion, outreach, and physical care as guiding values for the year ahead.
Momentum continues to build with several upcoming events. The church is looking forward to Jersey Sunday on February 8, a fun and family-friendly gathering, as well as Night to Shine on February 13, a special event honoring individuals with special needs. Together, these moments reflect a commitment to service, celebration, and community connection.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 This was the Scripture for Bro. Dale’s message, last Sunday. It wasn’t what he had originally been led to for the message, and I’m not sure at what point God laid this message on his heart, but for me it was God sent. With 2 points 1. Prayer is listening, listening to God through His Word the Bible and 2. listening to Him through His Spirit that lives in us as born again Christians.
Bro. Dale recorded this message to be used on Sunday, while we were warm in our homes, while the weather got worse as the day went on. But this was a message that, while I was sitting at home it gave me time to reflect and ask if I’m spending enough time in God’s word and if I’m listening to God as much as I’m talking to him. God has so much to share with us. How we can handle situations, how we can share our testimonies, how we can be an example for new Christians. During your prayer time with God remember to listen to God’s direction.
