FAITH & VALUES

Blanket Creek

Last week we talked about fellowship with one another.

This week 1 John talks about fellowship with God. Everyone has a purpose and God has a plan. When it is revealed to us we need to act on it. We should take at least two and a half minutes out of our day to fellowship with God and learn from Him. The way to Jesus is through God. Then do it God’s way not ours.

Please remember the City of Falmouth, they really need our prayers! Also the families of Mary Lou Schlueter and Zack Wilson. Have a blessed week.

Bro. Mark’s message was from Matthew 6:19-34, "Treasures upon earth." There is nothing wrong with having material things.  This passage is about your relationship with God.  If your profits are in heaven your heart will be there too.  If your eye is pure there will be sunshine in your soul.  But if your eye is clouded with evil thoughts and desires, you are in deep spiritual darkness. You can’t serve two masters. God and money. For you will hate one and love the other.  Jesus has gave us a template to live by and that is to care and do for others. Your heavenly Father already knows what you need.  Don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of it. Live one day at a time.

Sunday we celebrated Memorial Day by recognizing those that had served in the military, and we remembered those that had died and allowed us the freedom to worship in God’s house.

Our message, “Remember,” from Deuteronomy 8:10-14 guides us in how important it is to remember what God does for us; the jobs, clothes, homes, food, it is all from God. He wants the best for us, but He also wants us to remember who gives us the ability to have these things.

Luke Gregg read Psalm 77:9-12 followed by special music, “The Lamb’s Book of Life.”

The children’s message, “Isaac is Born,” from Genesis 18:1-15 tells how God can do anything. He does the impossible! “Is anything too hard for the Lord? …” Gen 18:14. We know the truth, nothing is too hard for the Lord.

Our VBS starts Sunday night, June 8th join us for Bible study, recreation, crafts – it will be a great week.
