Steven Allen McClanahan Sr., 71

FALMOUTH — Steven Allen McClanahan Sr., 71, of Falmouth, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Ft. Thomas Hospital. He was born on July 12, 1954 to the late Lossie and Nellie Frances (Konkwright) McClanahan. Steve retired in 2017 after nearly 30 years of service for Time Warner Cable (Spectrum). He was a lifelong farmer who spent many decades raising crops, working in the hay fields, tending to his cattle, and riding on his tractors. He loved science fiction movies and series, listening to classic rock songs, and spending his days at the farm with his family and pets.

He’ll be remembered as a hard-working and devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, co-worker and neighbor.

  Preceding him in death, addition too his parents, was a brother, Donald Miller; sisters, Lena Harrison and Helen Joyce Parsons.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Karen (McArter) McClanahan, whom he married December 22, 1972. He is also survived by his children, Steven Allen McClanahan Jr., of Falmouth, Samuel “Sam” Adam McClanahan, of Falmouth, Cary Britton McClanahan, of Brooksville; six grandchildren, Alayla Sims, Jackson LaFollette, Lily-Anna McClanahan, Roman Sims, Trinity Sims, and Max Sims.

The family will be hosting a “Celebration of Life” memorial gathering on Sunday, January 11, 2026, beginning at noon at the Kentucky Farm Bureau building located at 400 Main St., in Falmouth. All family and friends are welcomed to attend.
