RUTH BOWLING
Ruth “Mo” Evelyn Heringer Bowling, 97, of Butler, KY passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler. Ruth was born in Grants Lick, KY on March 8, 1926, daughter to the late Charlie and Nancy Louise McLaughlen Heringer.
Ruth retired as a rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service, a proud member of the Butler Christian Church and the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Ralph “Hoss” Bowling who she married on September 18, 1946, son Charles Ralph “C.R.” Bowling, granddaughter Elizabeth Bowling, sisters Francis Wilson, and Mary Gosney, brothers Charles, Jake, and Chris Heringer.
Survivors include her daughter Nancy “Toots” (Ewell) Adams, son Jim (Karen) Bowling, brothers Joseph (Joyce) Heringer, and Alfred Heringer, grandchildren Jason (Dana) Laytart, Brandon (Gina) Bowling, Travis (Margo) Bowling, Adam (Destiny) Bowling, Suzanne (J.D.) Gentry, Mollie (Charlie) Tichenor, Brian (Kasi) Adams, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Butler Cemetery-Butler, KY.
