Lillian Joyce Carter Downing, 86, resident of Taylor Mill, KY died Saturday, September 24, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Edgewood, KY.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Lillian’s joy was her family and her passion was serving God. Devoted Rosedale Baptist congregant and Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years, Lillian’s impact and influence are immeasurable.
Lillian is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, John W. Downing.
She is survived by sons John L. (Megan) Downing, Rod C. (Sherry) Downing, and Eric W. (Araceli) Downing; nine grandchildren: Timothy (Laura) Downing, Evan (Stephanie) Downing, Travis (Ali) Downing, Jessica (Blair) Brady, Paige (Jake) Sandy, Lucas (Rosa) Downing, Ashes (Kelsey) Stryffe, Sarah (Kyle) Quillin, and Lonnie Downing; 12 great-grandchildren (with two more on the way): Kennedy, Evelyn, Lena, Dean, Baby Sandy, Lilly, Samus, Kai, Rayne, Adam, Alex, Odin, Atlas, and Baby Downing; and numerous nieces and nephews, all who adored her beyond measure and cherish her contributions to their lives.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Rosedale Baptist Church, 45th Street and Glenn Avenue, Latonia, KY. The funeral will immediately follow the visitation, also at the church.
Interment will take place at 2 p.m. at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, KY.
