California, KY — Joyce Ann “Jody” Teegarden Freeman, 75, of California, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
She was born June 9, 1949, to the late Shelby and Dorothy Mae Baldridge Teegarden. Joyce was a professional photographer and a talented artist of canvas oil paintings. She was featured in an art display at the Newport Gallery, which she was very proud of. Joyce loved being outdoors and enjoyed deer hunting, kayaking and taking care of her flowers. She was a fan of Elvis’ music, loved to sew and roller skate. There wasn’t much she couldn’t do once she set her mind to it.
River Camp was her piece of heaven here on earth. She loved spending time there, watching the sun rise and the eagles fly, while entertaining her kids and grandkids. Joyce will be remembered as funny, creative and brash, with a soulful imagination. She was a beautiful person to all who truly knew her.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her brother, Robert Teegarden; and granddaughter, Sara Hall.
Surviving her passing are husband, of 54 years, Walt Freeman; children, Carrie (Scott) Ackerson, Kevin (Billie) Freeman; grandchildren, Chase (Courtney) Ackerson, Colten (Brooklyn) Ackerson, Cierra Ackerson, Brittany (Ryan) Eisner; great-grandchildren, Laitlyn, Harlee and Naomi.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
