John William Hendy, 64, of Falmouth, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, KY.
Born on September 11, 1958, he was the son of Martha Aleene Wagner Hendy and the late Hayden Hendy. On July 30, 1988, he married Martha Faye Cummins Hendy, and they had a wonderful life together.
An outdoors man from a young age, John enjoyed everything about farming, raising cattle and tobacco, hunting, and fishing, and he often found himself in the company of his beloved barn cats and beloved late dog, Buddy. He was a trusted, talented carpenter, having worked for Drees Homes early in his life. He worked on many properties in the area, including helping to build several homes in the community. John attended Blanket Creek Baptist Church, Pendleton County. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
In addition to his father, Hayden Hendy, he was also preceded in death by a sister Beverly Hendy.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Faye Cummins Hendy; his mother, Aleene Wagner Hendy of Falmouth, KY; his step-daughter, Robin Begley (Wade); his siblings: Barbara Galloway (Gerald), Linda Sue Hendy, Janice Holland (Ron), Karen Neal (Dennis), Larry Hendy, Kathy Hendy, and Jimmy Hendy (Pam); and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. Greg Nemo and Kevin Barnard officiating.
Interment will take place at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Pendleton County.
