Edwin Powell, 81 of Springfield, MO, formerly from Pendleton County, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Quail Creek Nursing Home.
He was a member of the Ridge Crest Church in Springfield and graduate of Pendleton County High School Class of 1961. He worked for Colonial Bread Co. in Missouri and later owned his own company, Powell Trucking. He was married to his wife, Ruth Smith Powell for 36 years and she survives his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Velma Wagner Powell; infant son, Michael Powell; brother Donald Powell and sister Carolyn Simpson.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Michael Powell, Phyllis, Lena, and Connie; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Herron and Joyce Mains; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery.
