Cynthiana — Arthur David Mann, 84, of Cynthiana, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026.

He was born on September 26, 1941, in Falmouth,  to the late Lillie and Ben Mann.

He was preceded in death by his loving sisters, Juanita Hamilton, Ruth Mann, Judy Lindloff, Mary Godman, Rosie King, Jen Dichenherr, Violet Sartin; and his brother, Michael Mann.

Survived by his sisters, Frances Murray, Linda Hollan; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David was the beloved husband of the late Betty Jane Mann, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. He was a devoted and proud father to Tony Mann (Bridgette) and Julie Lucky (Ernie). He was an adoring grandfather to Madeline and Angus Mann, and Will Lucky along with his girlfriend Kortney Harney who brought him great joy and pride.

David honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He went on to serve his community with distinction as a trooper for the Kentucky State Police and later as a valued member of the Harrison County School System, where he was recognized as Kentucky Transportation Director of the Year.

A dedicated and active member of the Cynthiana community, David gave generously of his time and energy. He coached Little League, served on the recreation department board, and was a former chair of both the Harrison County Band Boosters and the Harrison County Football Boosters. He was also a former member of the Elks Lodge and a proud member and a Master Mason of the Cynthiana Masonic Lodge.

David also had a lifelong love for the Kentucky Wildcats and the Cincinnati Reds, rarely missing a chance to follow and support his teams.

David will be remembered for his strong sense of duty, his commitment to his family and community, and the lasting impact he made on those around him. His legacy of service, leadership, and kindness will continue to live on through his family and all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Tony Mann, Ernie Lucky, Angus Mann, Will Lucky, Mike Dichenherr, Dean King, Ken Lucky, and Jeff Murray. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark and Sally Brazinski, John Conley, and Roger Anderson.

Services were held Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Ware Funeral Home in Cynthiana.

Burial took place at Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations in David’s name be made to two places that made him very happy during his lifetime, Trooper Island, KSP Headquarters, 919 Versailles Rd., Frankfort, KY 40601; and the Ark Veterinary Clinic, 2904 New Lair Rd., Cynthiana, KY 41031.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
