US MILITARY VETERAN
Falmouth — John Ray Reynolds, 68, of Falmouth, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, after a brave battle with cancer.
Born in Pendleton County, on February 26, 1958, John was a son of the late Joseph Nathan Reynolds and Ann Agnes Free Reynolds.
At the age of 13, John started farming with the late Bill Hetterman, milking cows and planting, raising, housing, and hauling tobacco. While attending Ft. Campbell Military High School in Ft. Campbell, John enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the 101st Airborne Division, training at the Panama Canal and in Germany, and distinguishing himself with high honors for his dedication as a Vietnam Veteran. John was a member of the local Hardin-Browning Post #109. In 1990, John joined the Local Union 265, working with Monarch Construction Company for 28 years on various building projects in the Greater Cincinnati area: 7 years at the University of Cincinnati (Nippert Stadium, the Patricia Corbett Auditorium & their geothermal water tanks), 4 years at Northern Kentucky University with various campus projects, and 2 years at Miami University. For 7 years John also worked for Rumpke. In retirement, John enjoyed working at Wyatt’s Supermarket, helping patrons, keeping the shelves stocked, and seeing so many friends and family. John was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Falmouth.
On March 4, 1978, John married his soul-mate Deborah F. Hamilton Reynolds, and they grew up together, raising their two boys and creating a lifetime of memories.
John was preceded in death by five siblings, Joey Reynolds, Becky Reynolds, Terry Reynolds, Robbie Reynolds and Roy Lee Cummins.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, Debbie, John is survived by his two sons, Joseph “Joey” Hamilton Reynolds, John Davin Reynolds; four grandchildren, John Davin, Riley, Sara Reynolds, Joseph Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Luna, Westyn, Julian (arriving Sept. 2026); five siblings, William “Willie” Reynolds, Tommy Reynolds, Martha Faye Hendy, Mary Lou Norton, Judy Reina; two sisters-in-law, Patricia “Patty” Miles, Kendra Clayton; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services were held from 10-11:45 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2026, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Mass of Christian Burial followed at noon, on Monday, April 6, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 202 Second Street, Falmouth, KY 41040, with Very Rev. Britton Hennessey, V.F. officiating.
Interment with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109 will take place at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown.
