Inspired by a Facebook post, lifelong Pendleton County resident Tammy Spicer grabbed an idea and turned into a community effort. As forecasters predicted that Mother Nature was set to unleash a monstrous winter storm across the area, Spicer collected donations that would be presented to all road crew workers who represent Pendleton County ranging from the City of Falmouth, Pendleton County Road Department and the State Highway crew. The effort gained momentum like a snowball rolling down a hill as local residents began sending monetary donations to Spicer and she gathered up an assortment of snacks, drinks and other essential items for the workers that could be used as they are putting in those long shifts to keeping the local roads clean. The donations were presented to the various crew members on Jan. 23 at the Mystery Box in Falmouth.
