New Life Wesleyan

Sunday, Jan. 18, was National Sanctity of Life Sunday. This date on all calendars in the U.S.A. began with President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and continues to this date. As a nation under God, we at New Life Wesleyan Church support LIFE in all stages of life. From conception to natural death, we honor the Father God as the Creator of life and the only One worthy to end life. Pastor Nick Errico preached a beautiful life message that day and it was received well.

Not a bad day, just good and cold. Bro. Kevin’s message was entitled “Renewed in Christ,” using Romans 12:2 as scripture. Prayer is like running a race -- there’s lots of preparation, but God understands. Just talk to Him.

Next Lord’s day we will be having a “Happy Birthday Party” for everyone.  We’ll have a pot-luck noon meal, with ice cream and cake.

Ladies Bible Study is January 28, 6:30 p.m.

We’ll have a new Sunday school class for our middle and high school students beginning February 1. Let’s get our youth in church.

Prayer concerns include Margaret Harper, Connie Jo Bowling, Jim McCann, Lisa Herron, Janice Bertram, Shawn Cook, Lori Thaxton, L.T. Varner, Sue Stahl, Luther Blevins, Debbie Jeans, Keith Belcher, A. J. Wright, Tiffany Gilbert, Shirley Bruin McClanahan, Gary Barnard, covid/cancer issues, shut-ins, our nation and its military.

Our sympathy to loved ones of Leon Hollingshead, Bonnie Williams, Randy Barlow and Ethel Lonaker Carroll.

Bro. Mark’s message was from John 4:4-42. The woman at the well. Jesus went out of his way to go to Samaria and meet this Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well. She soon came to draw water and Jesus asked her for a drink. Why are you being a Jew would speak to me? If you only knew what a wonderful gift God has for you. Jesus was talking about the living water He wanted to give her with eternal life. She told many in the village she had talked to the Messiah. He knows everything about my life. On that day many believed and accepted that living water. You always need to study and hear God’s word. Trust God!

The congregation gathered for a meaningful and impactful Sunday as the church continued its "Wait Training" sermon series, focusing on faith, patience, and trust in God’s timing. The service also marked the observance of Sanctity of Life Sunday, highlighted by a special presentation from Shannon Wells, director of New Hope Pregnancy Center, and Becky Mann, a nurse from the organization’s Falmouth location. Together, they shared insights into the compassionate services New Hope provides to support women, children and families in the community, emphasizing the value and dignity of every life. Their message encouraged us to consider both the spiritual and practical ways the church can support life-affirming ministries. In conjunction with the presentation, the church officially launched its annual Baby Bottle Boomerang campaign, inviting members to participate by collecting donations that will directly benefit New Hope Pregnancy Center’s ongoing work. The day served as a powerful reminder of the church’s commitment to faith in action and community outreach.

The children’s message Sunday was The Rainbow of Promise, from Genesis 9:8-17. Bro. Dale told the kids how God found righteousness in Noah when the whole world was doing bad, sinful things and He spoke to Noah and had him build the ark. Noah obeyed God, and he and his family and two of all the animals were saved from the world covering flood. After the flood, God promised Noah he would never flood the entire world again and gave a sign of the covenant-a Rainbow.

Miley Smith read Philippians 4:8-9 followed by the Praise Team special, "Made For More." Bro. Dale’s message, "Remember," was from 2 Peter 3:1-7. “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

To grow in this knowledge, we need to be in the word, the Bible. “For the word of God is living and powerful," Hebrews 4:12.
