The PC Track and Field team participated in two meets last week—The Harrison County All Comers and The Harrison County Invitational. The Harrison County All Comers took place on April 16. Other teams participating in the meet were Franklin County, Bourbon County, Nicholas County, Harrison County, Paris, Bath, and Grant. The top eight winners in each category earned points for the team.
The girls placed seventh with 27 points. Jayla McIlvain placed fourth in discus and third in shot put. Kara Bishop placed eighth in shot put. Most of the points were earned in relays. The 4X800 meter relay team consisting of Baylee Fields, Kaidence Reed, Catalina Furman, and Kara Bishop placed third while the 4X200 relay team with members Tia Barnes, Eme Wright, Addison Hutchinson, and Kaidence Reed, placed fourth. In the 4X100 relay, Emma Bishop, Addison Hutchinson, Kadience Reed, and Eme Wright placed fifth.
The boys placed sixth with 63 points. In the field events, Tyler Redden earned points for the team in discus and shot put, placing second and third respectively. In the long Jump, Lucas Dennison placed 4th. Sam Hodge placed eighth in the 400 meter race and 6th in the 200 meter race. In the 3200 meter race, Liam Mattill took first while Ben Brossart placed second. The boys also had a successful night with relays. In the 4X800 meter relay, the team consisting of Nick Black, Ben Brossart, Liam Mattill, and Miles Collins placed third. In the 4X200 meter relay, Kai Ledone, Leland Gibson, Brayden Conner, and Liam Mattill, placed sixth. In the 4x100 meter relay, Miles Collins, Sam Hodge, Lucas Dennison, and RJ Sanders placed fifth.
The Unified team had a great night as well. In Unified shot put, Dylan Beckett and Tyler Redden placed first, Jeffery Simpson and RJ Sanders placed third, Jordan Ewers and Nick Black placed fourth, and Brian Lynch and Kai Ledone placed fifth. In the Unified Long Jump, Jeffery Simpson and RJ Sanders placed first, Jordan Ewers and Nick Black placed second, Bryan Lynch and Kai Ledone placed third, and Dylan Beckett and Leland Gibson placed fourth. Jeffery Simpson and RJ Sanders placed second in the 2X50 while Jordan Ewers and Nick Black placed third. Brian Lynch and Kai Ledone placed fourth and Dylan Beckett and Leland Gibson placed fifth. In the 4X100 meter relay, the team consisting of Dylan Beckett, Leland Gibson, Kai Ledone, and Brian Lynch placed first while Jordan Ewers, Nick Black, RJ Sanders, and Jeffery Simpson placed second. In the 2X200 meter relay, Jeffery Simpson and RJ Sanders placed second while Nick Black and Jordan Ewers placed third.
The Harrison County Invitational took place on April 19 with teams from Anderson County, Augusta, Bracken County, Frankfort Christian Academy, Great Crossing, Harrison County, Lexington Christian, Mason County, Mercer County, Nicholas County, Paris, Scott, Scott County, and Tates Creek.
The PC girls placed 12th overall. The 4X800 meter relay team consisting of Kara Bishop, Catalina Furman, Baylee Fields, and Aryanna Soden placed sixth while the 4X100 meter relay team with Baylee Fields, Addison Hutchinson, Eme Wright, and Emma Bishop placed seventh.
The PC boys placed 11th overall with 17 points. For the field events, Tyler Redden placed third in shot and fourth in discus. Liam Mattill placed seventh in the 3200 meter race. The 4X800 meter relay team, consisting of Nick Black, Ben Brossart, Miles Collins, and Liam Mattill placed seventh while the 4X400 meter relay consisting of Nick Black, Miles Collins, AJ Redden, and Ben Brossart, also placed seventh.
For the Unified team, Dylan Beckett and Tyler Redden placed first in shot put. Brian Lynch and Michael Schaller placed second while Jordan Ewers and Nick Black placed fourth. Jeffery Simpson and Lucas Dennison placed first in long jump. Brian Lynch and Kai Ledone placed third while Dylan Beckett and Leland Gibson placed fourth. In the 2X50 meter relay, Jeffery Simpson and Lucas Dennison placed first, Jordan Ewers and Nick Black placed second, Brian Lynch and Kai Ledone placed third, and Dylan Beckett and Leland Gibson placed seventh. Jeffery Simpson and Sam Hodge placed first in the 2X200 meter relay while Jordan Ewers and Nick Black placed second. In the 4X100 meter relay, the team consisting of Kai Ledone, Brian Lynch, Jeffery Simpson, and Nick Black placed first while the team consisting of Tia Barnes, Jordan Ewers, Leland Gibson, and Dylan Beckett placed second.
The team will compete at the Grant County Friday Night Lights on April 25.
