BUTLER — The Sharp Middle School Future Problem-Solving team took first place compete at the Regional Governor’s Cup tournament on Feb. 10 at St. Agnes School in Fort Wright.
In between snow days, the Sharp Middle School academic team was able to compete.
The FPS team consists of Estelle Aulick, Hallie Cahill, Carter Dunn and Jackson Jacobs.
Jacobs stepped in for Logan MacNeil, who was on the team that won at district but was sick and unable to compete in the regional round.
Jacobs placed fifth in a social studies content assessment.
The FPS team, along with Jacobs completing another social studies assessment, will compete at the State Governor’s Cup competition on March 14 and 15 at the Galt House in Louisville.
Jacobs has also chosen to participate in an individual quick recall challenge which is a state-competition only event, open to 160 middle school and 160 high school students across the state.
The top ten students in each grade level will be recognized at the component event awards to be held March 17.
