Mt. Olivet — Ronald Elmo Stewart, 84, of Mt. Olivet, husband of 56 years to Bess Duncan Stewart, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center, in Maysville.

Born January 1, 1941 in Robertson County to the late Henry Elmo & Mary Elizabeth Linville Stewart. He was a 1959 graduate of Deming High School, a U.S. Navy veteran, a longtime member of Blue Licks Assembly of God Church and also later attended the Chapel of Praise, in Falmouth. After leaving the service, Ronnie graduated from Moler Barber College in 1968 and set up shop in Mt. Olivet, cutting hair there for 30 years before moving it to Falmouth, where he worked for another 26 years.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was stepmother, Ruby Stewart.

Surviving him, in addition to his wife, Bess Duncan Stewart; include children, Sean (Christa) Stewart, of Maysville, Melissa (Mike) Swenson, of Burlington; sisters, Mary (William) Wheaton, Peggy (Billy) Rose; brother, Jerry (Helen) Stewart, all of Mt. Olivet; grandchildren, Felicia Smith, Sean Swenson, Kamryn (Samantha) Caudill, Hayden (Lauren) Caudill; nine great-grandchildren, including a special great-granddaughter, Kiyah Smith; a special nephew, James Stewart; several other nieces; nephews; and a host of cousins.

Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., noon, Saturday, March 8, at Blue Licks Assembly of God Church with a memorial service immediately following at 1 p.m. A meal in the fellowship hall will follow the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kain & Kabler Funeral Home.
