The Pendleton County Ladycats basketball team now sits at a 12-13 regular season record after a long week of games which featured two wins and two losses. They ended the week having picked up two wins over 38th district opponents, which puts them at a 4-2 district record.
On February 3, the Ladycats lost to Bracken County 52-35. The team was led in scoring by Lilly Ashcraft with 11 points, and Hannah Spaulding with eight points.
The Ladycats then fell short to Paris 66-59 on February 5. Hannah Spaulding led the team in scoring with 21 points and seven rebounds. Selena Rarrieck put up a career-high 20 points. Kearstin Mayer contributed 13 points, and Madison Verst had six rebounds and six assists. The Ladycats picked up a 51-36 district win over Harrison County on February 6. Hannah Spaulding once again led the team in scoring with 15 points. Kearstin Mayer put up 10 points and six rebounds. Skyler Thacker captured a career-high 14 rebounds. Madison Verst once again dished out six assists.
On February 8, Pendleton County captured a dominating 71-20 win over Robertson County. The team celebrated the contributions and achievements of the Ladycat seniors: Kearstin Mayer, Skyler Thacker, and Madison Verst. There are no stats available at this time.
There are two weeks left of regular season play for Kentucky high school basketball. The Ladycats will be on the road this week. On Monday, February 10, the team travels to Ludlow to take on the Lady Panthers. On February 15, the team will make the trek to Raceland.
