The Pendleton County Ladycats basketball team traveled to Charleston, South Caroline over Christmas Break to compete in a tournament at Summerville High School. The team went 0-3 on the week but learned a lot about themselves both individually and as a team.
The Ladycats suffered a 64-23 loss to Summerville (SC). Hannah Spaulding led the team with eight points and five rebounds.
Pendleton County also suffered a 52-26 loss to Nation Ford (SC). Madison Verst led the offense with nine points. Kearstin Mayer had a team-high nine rebounds.
In their 50-27 loss to Etowah (Woodstock, GA), the Ladycat offense was led by Lilly Ashcraft with nine points.
The Ladycat basketball team returned home safely and traveled to Walton-Verona on January 4 where they were defeated by the Lady Bearcats 78-39. Lilly Ashcraft led all Ladycat scorers with eight points. Bailey Kelly had a personal-high six rebounds.
The team currently sits at a 5-8 record as they head into the remainder of the season. Fans can catch the team in action this week as they face Bluegrass United at home on January 14. The Ladycats will then travel to Nicholas County on January 17 to face the Lady Jackets.
