FALMOUTH — “Away in the Basement: A Church Basement Ladies Christmas” is playing at Kincaid Regional Theatre Thursday through Dec. 15.
“Church Basement Ladies” is a nationally recognized growing series of comedic plays.
This installment transports audiences back in time to 1959. It is the day of the Sunday School Christmas Program.
As the children rehearse up in the sanctuary, the ladies of the kitchen are finishing up the goodie bags and putting final touches on the Nativity pieces.
Little do they know what surprises are in store for them as they are called upon to, once again, step in and save the day.
Kincaid Regional Theatre first produced “Church Basement Ladies” in April of 2023. Returning cast members include Barbara Browning as Mavis, Bethany Beckett as Beverly, Bonita Pack as Vivian and Carrie Thomas as Karin.
Darin Hart returns to the Kincaid stage and steps into the role of the pastor.
Local women’s chorus, “Sisters in Harmony” will provide pre-show music at multiple performances.
The production is directed by Christina Jeans, music direction by Judy Combs and stage management by Abigail Wilson.
Opening night is set for 7 p.m. Thursday. Evening performances are 7 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Matinée performances are staged 2:30 p.m. Sundays.
A special, festive dinner theatre performance will be held Saturday following the City of Falmouth Christmas parade. Dinner catered by Lenoxburg General Store will be served 6:30 to 7 p.m., with the show following at 7. All dinner theatre seats are $40.
Regular show admission is $20 for adults 18 and older, $18 for seniors 55 and older and military personnel, and $15 for students 17 and younger.
