CREATURE FEATURE

Creature Feature runs twice monthly featuring some of the dogs available for adoption at the Pendleton County Animal Shelter.

The no-kill shelter is in crisis mode, with far more dogs than capacity. The shelter has been reaching out to other shelters trying to find spots for all of the stray and abandoned.

“Please take a moment and look at all the dogs we have up for adoption and see if you could open your heart to adopt a new family member. These babies didn’t deserve to be in the shelter, so let’s pull together and make them feel loved and appreciated,” the shelter states.

“We receive so many calls weekly for people wanting to surrender their pets as they can’t afford them.

“And because we can’t take surrenders people resort to dumping them on a back county road. It’s a sad reality for not only our shelter but many shelters all over.”

Contact the shelter at 859-472-5400 to inquire about adding a fur baby to your family, or stop in at the shelter at 1314 Bryan Griffin Road, Butler.

Shelter hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday; and is closed Tuesday and Sunday.

Call before driving out to the shelter in case staff is out an animal emergency.

Dogs also are on the Facebook page, Pendleton County (KY) Animal Shelter.
