Phyllis Lee (Wear) Roseberry, 82, of Peach Grove, KY passed away in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family on July, 22, 2024. She was born to Lawson and Flora Jane (Tarvin) Wear on August 7, 1941 in Persimmon Grove, KY. She was a proud member of the Fairlane Baptist Church where she attended Sunday School and church regularly with her husband and entire family. She was a devoted help mate to her husband and the ultimate supporter of her children and grandchildren attending numerous school functions and sporting activities and stayed engaged in her children and grandchildren's education and careers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Leroy Wear, Junior Wear, Betty Glenn and Lorraine Weinel and two sons-in-law, Bill Matthews and Ken Kells.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Henry Roseberry, Sr.; daughters Brenda Kells and Linda Matthews and son Henry Kenneth (Kris) Roseberry, Jr. She was the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren, Billy (Meghan) Matthews, JR Kells, Brittany (Greg) Turner, Derrick (Ciara) Kells, Katie (Gary) Ashley, Kendall (Dylon) Comeaux, and Henry (Trey) Roseberry, III (McKenzie); and twelve great-grandchildren, Mia, Tripp, Jacob Matthews; Colton, Dylan, Jackson, Weston Turner; Kobe Kells; Corah, Ellis, Arden Ashley; and Myles Comeaux.
Phyllis and Hank were foster care providers for many children for over a decade. In many cases, she became a loving mother that many needed with an abundance of Christ like love and compassion. A few remain in contact with her and give thanks for what she provided.
She enjoyed watching sports, especially her grandchildren and the Kentucky Wildcats. In the last few years, like Hank she was addicted to Fox News. But most of all she enjoyed her family; whether at church, birthdays, holidays, or Sunday afternoon gatherings. She left a legacy for future generations and will be sorely missed.
Services were held at Fairlane Baptist Church, Grants Lick, KY. Visitation was on Sunday, July 28, with the funeral following on Monday.
Interment took place at Peach Grove Cemetery.
