FAITH & VALUES

July 16, 2024

Blanket Creek

We’ve had a busy day today. Starting with worship in music followed by the baptism of Jase McCandless. We need to keep this young man in our prayers and help him continue to grow in his relationship with Jesus.

The message was “Two Ordinances of the Church.” Romans 6:4-5 talks about baptism and 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 talks about the Institution of the Lord's Supper. After the message we shared in communion.

Please be in prayer for the families of Lou Burke, Donna Baker, and Jerry Prewitt. We invite you to join us for Sunday school at 10 a.m. and  worship service at 11.

Butler Christ Community

Greetings friends! Is it well with your soul?

Pastor Ron delivered a powerful message to us on Sunday challenging us with the question, what is holding you back in your walk with God? Many things are taking place in our lives to replace God.

We are excited to welcome all the scholarship recipients on July 21 . We will have the presentation of their scholarships during the service and then we will have a dinner in their honor following.

Please pray with us for Nancy’s coworkers and family, Elizabeth’s uncle, Julie Kirsch, Dee Stark, Betty, Mary’s daughter, Shane’s father, and all those on our prayer list.

You are welcome to attend our service each Sunday at 11 a.m. The young people also have a lesson during our service.

God bless America and God bless you!

Mt. Gilead

Today, July 7, was a good day to be in church-- actually, every Sunday is! We loved seeing a new addition to the worship team, Burton Cole. It is sounding absolutely beautiful. Also, our 2 little girls, Hannah Errico and Adelyn Slaven, are so precious as they share their talents with our worship team

Several youth left after church for kids' camp in Maysville. There was much excitement as we watched them pull away.

Only 2 weeks until our Pendleton County Co-op of Churches' Old Fashioned Gospel Hymn Sing. It will be held at 6 p.m. July 21 at the Fairgrounds.

We hope you to see you there!

Bro. Mark’s message was from John 1:43-51.

Jesus calling his disciples.  He found Philip and told him, come with me.  Philip now went off to look for Nathanael and told him, we have found the Messiah.  His name is Jesus, the Son of Joseph of Nazareth.  Nazareth apparently wasn’t a good place, what good could come out of there.  As they approached, Jesus said here comes an honest man.  How do you know what I am like?  Jesus replied, I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you.  Nathanael knew right then, sir you are the Son of God.

He speaks in that still small voice unlike Satan who will put so many temptations in front of you.  What’s holding you back from accepting Jesus?  God is all the comfort you need.

“The Unseen Power” was the title of the children’s message, from John 16:12-13. Just as a balloon needs air to be effective, we need the unseen power of the Holy Spirit to be effective individuals. With the Holy Spirit, we are able to read God’s word and understand it; it teaches us what is true and makes us realize what is wrong.

Blake Smith-Beighle read Luke 11:11-13 followed by special music from Art Wiggins, Calvary’s the Reason Why.

Bro. Dale’s message, Power To Share The Gospel, was from Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Pray with us, that those that are lost learn about Jesus and accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
