Dan H. Smith, 77, of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at his home. He was born in Maredian, Mississippi on November 23, 1946, son to the late Nate and Maggie Avera Smith.
Dan is a member of Pine Grove Methodist Church and a Veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the railroad as a machinist. He loved playing and making guitars. His band traveled all around the south playing bluegrass music.
Survivors include his son Jeff (Renee) Smith. In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Lee Redden Smith; a son, Andrew Lee Smith; and a brother, Jamie Smith.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, July 13 at Lenoxburg Cemetery, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home.
