Alton Erwood Elrod, 95, of Foster, KY, passed away on Wednesday June 5, 2024, at River Valley Nursing Home in Butler. Alton was born in Foster, KY on August 19, 1928, son to the late Percy and R.L.T. Pugh Elrod. In addition to his parents, Alton is preceded in death by his son in law Lee Kelsch and two grandsons Nicholas W. Elrod and Stephen D. Elrod.
Alton was a member of Cemetery Chapel Christian Church in Foster. He retired as a truck driver after 14 years at Klee’s Wholesale. Prior to Klee’s, Alton spent 37 years driving a milk truck for Thomas & Flaugher, Flaugher Bros. and Buser Milk Transportation.
Alton is survived by his wife Beulah Schlueter Elrod; son Rick (Judy) Elrod and daughter Phyllis Kelsch. Grandchildren: Kellie (Nick) Turner, Kent (Candice) Kelsch, Jenna (Mason) O’Hara, Natalie (A.J.) Stewart and Jon (Mariah) Elrod. Great grandchildren: Mackie and Mackenna Turner, Kamden, Isabella and Briella O’Hara, Carson, Kensleigh and Cooper Kelsch, Hallie and Kai Stewart, Collins, Merritt, Tripp and Campbell Elrod.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 9 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral services were held on Monday at Cemetery Chapel Christian Church in Foster.
Interment took place at Lenoxburg Cemetery.
