FAITH & VALUES

June 11, 2024

Blanket Creek

The mood was somber this morning when we learned of the passing of our longtime member and friend Bob Ammerman. He passed peacefully in his sleep and our prayers are with his family and friends.

Scripture was taken from Romans 10:5-13. “This life and one more.”  In order to receive the “one more” we must first accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and  Savior in this first life in order to receive the “one more” which is eternal life with Jesus.

VBS is almost here, June 24-28. Hope to see your children there.

Please remember the families of Cathy Smallwood, Kathleen Simmons, O.T. Gillespie, Shirley Lambert and Ronald Hensley.

Butler Christ Community

Greetings friends. God's word is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path.

Being a Christian is NOT easy. We are all sinners and we all make mistakes. All of our wrongs are against God. But if we repent and try to live godly lives we can be saved and blessed. We are all servants just as Jesus taught us, serving each other. Go and do this and be kind to everyone.

This is the week of VBS for the Butler Community. It will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Butler Christian Church on High Street in Butler. Three churches are combining efforts to make this a successful event.

We are very pleased to announce that Amanda Bruin will be speaking during morning service on June 23.

The presentation of scholarships and dinner in their honor will be held on July 14.

Please pray with us for our sick, sad, lonely, lost, and broken hearted.

God is good all the time!

Using Romans 2:12-15 as text, Bro. Kevin reminded us of Paul's mission primarily to Gentiles.  He had told them to listen and obey.  How about us -- do we listen and obey?

June 16 is Father's Day and we will be having a breakfast for our dads.

Bro. Mark’s message was from Acts 9:1-18.

Saul went into the high priest to destroy every Christian.  Give me warrants to persecute any believers I find, both men and women.  As he was nearing Damascus suddenly a brilliant light from heaven spotted down upon him.  A voice said, Saul, Saul why are you persecuting me?  Who is speaking? I am Jesus.  As Saul picked himself up off the ground, he found that he was blind.  He needed to be lead to Damascus and was there three days, blind going without food and water.

The Lord told Ananias about the terrible things this man had done to the believers.  Ananias found Saul laid his hands on him, instantly Saul could see and was baptized.  Saul was a chosen one to take the message of God to the nations and to the people of Israel.

Saul who was renamed Paul by God wrote 13 books of the New Testament.  We also are chosen vessels of Christ.

“Ready For His Return” was the children’s message from Bro. Dale on Sunday. It came from Luke 21:34-36, this scripture tells us to be on our guard, Jesus will return, we don’t know the day or time but we can be sure He will return. Are you ready for His return?

Luke Gregg read I Thessalonians 4:15-17 followed by the Praise Team special.

Bro. Dale’s message I Will Come Again, from John 14:1-3 “Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”

Jesus will return, that we are assured; are you ready?
