FAITH & VALUES

June 04, 2024

Blanket Creek

Scripture was taken from Joshua 4 “The Memorial Stones.”  God used these memorial stones for the Israelites to cross over the Jordan to dry land. Taking that first step toward salvation creates a memorial of its own in your life. We sang the Battle Hymn of the Republic by video. This song was written during the Civil War by Julia Ward Howe. It calls for an end to slavery.  When we don’t have God in our lives we are a slave to sin.

Remember the families of those who have lost loved ones recently. Gerald Barlow and Amanda Campbell.

VBS will be coming up soon June 24-28th from 6-8:30 p.m. Please plan to bring your children.

Butler Christ Community

Greetings friends, I hope you have been enjoying this wonderful week of weather after the storms passed.

Pastor Ron encouraged us to pray before we attempt to do anything. God is always there for us loving us.

The Butler Community VBS will be held June 10-13 at the Butler Christian Church, 6-8:30 each evening.

We had many praises to celebrate this Sunday and some concerns as well. Please pray with us for all who were mentioned.

We have been asked to help some friends who are struggling, by bringing in some food supplies. God gave us so much we can share what we have.

God bless you all!

New Life Wesleyan

This is the day that the Lord made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Amen.

Heads up on the next event for the PCCC. July 21st, at the Fairgrounds, at 6 p.m., will be our annual Old Fashioned Gospel Hymn Sing. Mark your calendars now, it's gonna be good! We want many to come and be blessed. Spread the word, and invite your friends. Pray for good weather. Hope to see you there!

Oakland

We pray all gave due honor to our veterans over Memorial weekend, as well as to our deceased loved ones.

The message of the morning reminded us of the importance of remembering.  God encourages us to remember; it helps us to keep our lives in perspective of God's will; and it reminds us to be thankful for what we have.

Baby Dedication Sunday is June 9.  Also that day will be a Spaghetti Dinner for all to enjoy.

Of course, June 16 is Father's Day.

Oakland is doing a sugar drive for Camp Northward.

Prayer concerns include Sharon King (Magnolia Springs, Florence), Jeanine Cox, Bobby Johnson, Tirah Clemons, Jenny Wright, Carrie Ammerman, Chuck and Donna Elliott, Loretta Cordray, Steve Green, Bro. Wayne Rice, Mike McKinney, Cheri Figgins, Pat Hart, Trudy Moore, Ernie Richie, Diane Moorhead, Edwin Powell, Betty Workman, Ricky Gillespie, Charles Klaber,  shut-ins, cancer/covid issues, and our nation.

Sympathy to loved ones of Gerald Barlow and William Holland.

Bro. Mark’s message was from Revelation 22.

Heaven!  Nothing evil will be permitted in heaven, no one immoral or dishonest.  From within, out of men’s hearts come the evil thoughts.  That won’t be the case in heaven.  There shall be nothing that is evil, for the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there.  There will be no night for the Lord God will be the light and shall reign forever and ever.

Jesus has provided us the free gift of salvation.  Once we accept that our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.  Only YOU can accept that gift.

We took time from our worship service to recognize those that have fought for our freedom and give us the privilege to gather and worship God.

During the children’s message, The Baptism of Jesus, from Luke 3:15-17, 21-22, John said he baptized with water but Jesus will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. To know and accept Jesus and follow through with baptism allows you to go through the rest of your life with the Holy Spirit inside you, it comforts us, guides us and convicts us of our sin.

Kiersten Beighle read Matthew 28:19-20, the Praise team sang Come Unto Jesus, and Bro. Dale presented a message about preparing for VBS. “but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew 6:20/

We welcome you to join us for VBS June 9-14th from 6:15 to 8:45 p.m. and learn what there is to know about asking Jesus into your heart!
