Children serviced by the North Family Resource Youth Services Center won’t have to go barefoot thanks to the generosity of Butler Baptist Church members and their “God sent project--The Trina Pribble Memorial Sunday (shoe/sock collection).” On Friday, September 29, BBC’s new pastor Martin Jones dropped by Northern Elementary with a donation of 91 shoes and 200 pairs of socks for the NFRYSC.
The church has been collecting new shoes and socks since the mid 90’s during the month of September. Trina Pribble who was a member of BBC for several years, was led to start this project, according to BBC’s Facebook page. The church decided to name this year’s collection in memory of Pribble who passed away earlier this year.
Jodi Buckley, NFRYSC’s coordinator expressed her appreciation, “This is a wonderful donation, and I would like to say thank you for their generosity!”
