RED's Opening Day - 300 foot by 150 foot American Flag
A celebration like no other: The 147th Opening Day saw Denver, KY native Marlana VanHoose perform the national athem while a pair of F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 180th Fighter Wing Ohio National Guard Base in Toledo flew over the ballpark. Members of the Cincinnati Firefighters Department unfurled a 300 foot by 150 foot American Flag.

A sea of Red: Cincinnati Reds fans packed Great American Ballpark on March 30. A new-record crowd of 44,063 turned out on a beautiful, sunny day with temperatures in the mid-60’s.
Keith and Jana Smith of Butler brought their four-year-old granddaughter Rori to her first ever Opening Day. They enjoyed the view from section 436.
The Reds dugout celebrated a fourth-inning home run by third baseman Spencer Steer. Once he entered the dugout he sported a viking helmet that the team is using to honor players who hit home runs during the season.
Rodney Hamilton made a triumphant return to the Opening Day parade as he overcame serious health issues to join his teammates from the Red Stockings HOF vintage team.
PCHS alum and current NKU student Corey Reilly is employed by the Reds and assisted in covering the Triple Play Suites located on Level 3 at GABP.
David Bell, now beginning his fifth season as Reds manager, addresses reporters following his club’s 5-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Hunter Greene threw three innings for the Reds and struke out eight batters. The 23 year-old became the youngest pitcher since Frank Pastore in 1980 to start for the Reds on Opening Day.
