Rudy Dean Dunn, 76, of Berry, KY, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Edgewood, KY.
Born in Berry on June 2, 1946, Rudy was the son of the late Forest and Dimple Bailey Dunn. On August 3, 1991 he married Rose Wainscott Dunn and she survives his passing. Rudy was a truck driver, and he always looked forward to new adventures, seeing the country in all four seasons, and meeting new people along the way. At the end of each long haul he was excited to return to his wife Rose and his farm, where he always had a project underway: growing crops, tending cattle, mowing hay, mending fence, and taking care of the land that was near and dear to him. Rudy faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War, and he was awarded the Bronze Star. Kentucky Governor Julian Carroll named him a Kentucky Colonel, and he was a member of the Hardin-Browning Post #109. Rudy worked hard all of this life, always giving his best for everyone and everything entrusted to his care.
In addition to his wife Rose Wainscott Dunn, he is survived by his son, James Dean Dunn (Lucy) of Lexington, KY; his step-daughter, Nicole Miller (Jerry II) of Williamstown, KY; three grandchildren: Mariah Schae Miller, Jerry “Trae” Miller III, and Jamison Dunn; two great-grandchildren: Paxton Dean Coleman and Aria Rayne O’Connor; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth with funeral services the following day, also at the funeral home.
Interment with full military honors took place at the Morgan Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Hardin-Browning Post #109: 111 Montjoy Street, Falmouth, KY 41040.
