Darling Ingredients Joins Forces with Trinity

Helping the Church “MOVE” in the Community

By Brenda Higgins

Christmas at Trinity Southern Baptist church was made a little sweeter this season as Darling Ingredients presented Trinity’s Outreach program with a special donation.

The Outreach program has a set budget each year and generally goes over it due to special calls that come in for people in need. For instance, the church learned of a family that had not been able to go grocery shopping for three months but had just been able to buy food for the day. One party works full time and the other is disabled, so Trinity took them grocery shopping and one family in the church gave them pork from their deep freezer. Another member of the church is hunting deer with intent to have it prepared for this family at his expense.

Besides helping the South Family Resource Center with 20 Angel tree kids, there were several other requests for help that came in after that deadline.  Again, Trinity stepped in and helped an additional 26 kids and families.

These kinds of things go on year-round for the Church On The Move and community. Other examples include setting up at the local laundromat and paying for people’s machines, detergent and dryer sheets. They set aside time and passed out free hot dogs, beef Pattie’s, buns, eggs, milk, butter, bread and more on two separate occasions, free community day at the fairgrounds where everyone was invited to attend, eat till your full then participate in the many free activities set up around the grounds such as pony rides, hay rides, games, face painting, music and so much more. And all at no expense to anyone but Trinity.  There’s so much more as this just tips the iceberg.

Darling sees the worth in this type of giving to people and wants to be a part of it. Brother Crozier stated, “We’re thankful to be able to partner with local organizations that believe in investing in our community.”

Everything Trinity is able to accomplish is because it’s God’s desire.  The church is not “bragging” on itself for they know they can do nothing if it’s not what God has planned, all glory goes to God. They are, however, bragging on a Mighty God they serve. They thank God for blessing Trinity and its members and allowing them to be the hands and feet of their Heavenly Father.  They also thank God for blessing Trinity with people and businesses in the community who want to be a part of this amazing experience.
