Wynona Mae Tomlin Wasserboehr, 91, of Union, KY, a native of Pendleton County, and former resident of San Diego, CA, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Boonespring in Union, KY.
Born on February 18, 1931, in Falmouth, she was a daughter of the late James Rollin and Virginia Ann Fryer Tomlin. She married native Californian Jack M. Wasserboehr, and for many years, they enjoyed living in San Diego, where he worked for the National Steel and Ship Building Company. After his retirement in the mid 1980s, they moved to Falmouth, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1989. Wynona loved her family and friends, and she was a world of fun. Wynona’s many nieces and nephews were blessed to have the love and support of their “Aunt Nonie.”
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings: Ladema Schemmel, Charlotte Pope, Rita Points, Lloyd Elbert Tomlin, John Rollin Tomlin, and James Lee Tomlin.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia Lucille Kaplan of Covington, KY; several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
A graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Riverside Cemetery in Falmouth. Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth, is caring for the family.
