Wildcats honor trio of seniors

The Pendleton County Wildcats Golf team hosted Williamstown at Pendleton Hills on September 12 and recognized their trio of senior players following the match.
The Wildcats picked up the win as senior Rylee Spence fired a 39 to lead the foursome. Bryant Brown turned in a 44, followed by Austin Kirsch with a 45. Fellow senior Ethan Verst rounded out the scoring with a 46. After the match, both Spence and Verst, as well as the third senior Caleb Thompson were treated to celebration to commemorate their varsity careers.
“This group of seniors were great! Rylee was our most experienced player and served as a great leader both on and off of the course. He played a large part in the development of our newer players,” said team head coach Mason Monroe.
“Caleb and Ethan, both second year players, have come a long and improved a lot. It seemed like they got better with each passing match and tournament they played in. Our younger players will have some big shoes to fill next year, but I think these seniors have done a good job in laying the ground work for them,” Coach Monroe added.
This week, the Wildcats will compete in the 8th Region Tournament to be held at Houston Oaks.
