It's been smooth sailing so far for Pendleton County native Nate Jones as he looks to earn his place onto the Atlanta Braves opening day roster.
Jones, 35, has looked very much like his old self during the first couple of weeks of spring training. He's appeared in five games and has yielded just two hits after facing 17 total hitters in 5.1 innings. He hasn't allowed a single walk and has notched two strikeouts.
Atlanta has nine remaining spring training games before they begin their 2021 regular season on April 1 at Philadelphia.
