Terry Lee Cummins, 85

    Terry Lee Cummins, 85, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020.
    Terry graduated from Morgan High School in 1952. He obtained his B. A. degree from Transylvania and M.A. degree from the University of Kentucky. He served two years in the Navy.
    Terry was an avid golfer, runner, traveler, and fisherman. He spent his career as a school administrator in Pendleton and Meade Counties in Kentucky and in Clark, Floyd, and Harrison Counties in Indiana. He was principal of Pendleton County High School from 1962-1970. After retiring, he began to run marathons and routinely traveled to Asia and South America for rugged mountain hiking. In his later years, he authored/published seven books and wrote a weekly column for the New Albany News and Tribune.     
    He was born on July 15, 1934, in Pendleton County, Kentucky, to the late Leland and Audrey Marquette Cummins. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Vera Cummins; and sister, Ann Ammerman.
    Terry is survived by his daughter Dani Cummins; son Tim (Marilyn) Cummins; son John Cummins; son Paul Cummins; sister Lisa Foreman; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
    Terry chose cremation.
    A visitation will be held Saturday, July 18, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Short Creek Baptist Church in Pendleton County, Kentucky, where Terry was born and raised. A short burial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Please follow Kentucky guidelines for wearing masks and social distancing.
