KDA licenses hemp growers for 2020 season

Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles has announced the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) has licensed 960 hemp growers to grow up to 32,000 acres and 150 hemp processors and handlers for 2020. The Department has also licensed 4.6 million square feet of greenhouse space for production.

The crest level for Licking River in Falmouth continues to move in a positive direction for the safety of Falmouth, Butler and Pendleton County residents. The National Weather Service released the latest Flood Warning that dropped the crest level another foot to 40.5 feet at 2 a.m.

National Weather Service lowered the crest level for the Licking River to 41 feet at 12 a.m. on Thursday, May 21. The crest level was set in the morning of Tuesday, May 19 at 43 feet. They raised it to 44 feet in the afternoon which would have flooded most of northwest Falmouth. By 7 p.m.
