Layout of proposed animal shelter moves forward

12-year-old saves grandfather from devastating house fire

By FOX19     People in the Falmouth community are applauding a 12-year-old boy after he saved his grandfather from a house fire last week.     The fire occurred off KY-22 near McGraw Road in Pendleton County.     Shelby Stephens says he’s lived at the house most of his life.

    The Pendleton County Animal Shelter serves the community in ensuring dogs brought to the shelter or that have been picked up by Animal Control are taken care of, fed, and socialized in an effort to ensure they’re ready for their next forever home.

Raffle for animal rescue

    While treating pets and animals on a daily basis, Licking Valley Veterinary reaches out to help animals that don’t have that loving owner and home that so many of their patients do. This year, they are helping four non-profits by offering a chance to win one of Dr. Nathan Glaza’s paintings.

    Due to the increased spread of Covid -19 in our county and surrounding areas, the annual Knights of Columbus Fish Fry at St. Francis Xavier Church in Falmouth is postponed.     The KofC Fish Fry is a popular community event and the primary fundraiser for the organization.

Cold temperatures lead to death of Falmouth resident

    Mary Catherine Teegarden was found lying outside of her home on Saturday morning just before 10 a.m. by someone who had came to the house to check on her.     According to Falmouth Officer Travis Hinkle who responded to the call, “When I arrived, I quickly checked her vital signs.
