Sugar Day tapped into a sweet weekend

    Nearly 200 people enjoyed the late winter sunshine on the top of the tree-covered hills of Butler as Faith Acres Farm held its fourth annual Sugar Day.     Jeff Pettit, his wife, Sara, and their family work every year to bring this free event to the public.

AARP tax assist

    AARP volunteers will be able to provide tax help to the Pendleton County community at the library this year.       The program will be different than years past though.  This will be done by appointment only.       There will NOT be a walk in service.

    The Pendleton County Cooperative Extension Office Family and Consumer Science Educator was approached by our local game warden, Scott Horn, wanting to offer the Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry opportunity in our county in 2019.

    While it was clear that 78th District Representative Mark Hart understood that rural county government needs the road aid funds from the state government, he made it clear that the present bill in front of the Kentucky House of Representatives does more harm than good.

Donations for Kentucky flood victims

    Pendleton County Emergency Management is collecting donations for the flood victims in Lee County, Kentucky. Beattyville in Lee County, where three forks of the Kentucky River come together, was hit hard by the recent flooding and could use some assistance.
