Pendleton Farm Tour

Our “quiet little county” has not been quiet this month. Last week, fireworks and July 4 festivities filled the days. This weekend, both tourism and Kincaid Lake State Park celebrated events--tourism holding an inaugural event and Kincaid holding a 65th birthday party.

Saturday, at least 100 people or families enjoyed Pendleton County Farmer's Market Inaugural Farm Tour, according to tourism’s Melanie Hartzel. Eight farms and the farmers’ market participated in the event that included Mains Farms, Total Equine Services, Faith Acres, Hilltop Highlands and Triple G Farms, Rose Hill Winery, Reclaimed Ranch, Licking Valley Farms, and Blacksheep Farmstead.

The farms offered everything from wine slushies (Rose Hill) to Fry’s Party Essentials inflatables and food trucks along with contact with animals and explanations of the farm life. Products were of course available for purchase.

This tour will not be the last considering the popularity of the event.
