The Pendleton County Fiscal Court held a Caucus meeting on February 7.

All Magistrates were in attendance. The County Attorney was absent.

Mike Moore, Emergency Management Director was honored by Perry County Judge Executive Scott Alexander of Hazard, KY for his work in assisting their area during the recent flooding. Mike took it upon himself to travel to there and help with anything they needed him to do. They were grateful for his help and recognized him as an Honorary Duke of Hazard Kentucky.

Moore was grateful for the recognition, too. "I was honored to receive this recognition from the City of Hazard and Perry County. To be recognized by a community that suffered so much devastation is quite humbling. They were hit with historic flooding that resulted in the tragic loss of life and untold costs in home and property damages. I can only hope I helped in some small way in their long road to recovery."

The final host agreement with Rumpke will be approved at the next meeting.

There has been ongoing damage to road signs and a $1,000 reward is in place for anyone with information about who is taking the road signs. An additional $1,000 was offered by John McCandless for information about the individual damaging the road signs.

The annual agreement with the donation to Pendleton County Youth Fair was discussed, but it was tabled until the agreement for donation to the carnival rides is reviewed.

At the next regular meeting, the second reading of the budget amendment for Opioid Funds will be read, as well as voting on approval of Alex Carson to the Joint Planning and Zoning Commission.

The next regular meeting of the Pendleton County Fiscal Court will be Tuesday, February 14 at 6 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. It will also be broadcast live via Facebook.
