FAITH & VALUES

August 13, 2024

Butler Christ Community

Greetings friends, may God bless you as you work and play this week.

Pastor Ron gave us some spiritual food to chew on during his morning message on Sunday. Come join us here at 11 a.m. each Sunday to be fed by His Word. Pastor Ron's message was about false prophets this week. It was very eye opening!

The ladies will be meeting at 7 p.m. on August 16 at the church. All ladies are welcome to join us.

Please pray with us for Bob McClanahan, Debbie’s dad, Mary Ann and her daughter, Becky Wright, Shelia, Kay’s daughter-in-law, Betty Bay, Curt, Danny, Abigail, Benny's mom, Linda Moore, William's grandmother and uncle, and for all who are suffering.

God is so good. Have a blessed week.

Mt. Gilead

Homecoming services are planned at 2 p.m. on Aug. 18th. There will be a worship service, singing and a meal. If you would like, bring your favorite dish or dessert.

All former preachers/speakers who have spoken here at any time are invited to attend.

Everyone is welcome to the little church on the hill.

New Life Wesleyan

New Life Wesleyan Church is excited and  slowly growing as well. On Aug. 4, we baptized one more into the baptismal waters. Welcome, Lola Hicks, to Falmouth New Life Wesleyan Church.

The annual Gideon Banquet was held on Saturday night, Aug. 3, at the Extension Office. What a blessing to hear of hundreds of New Testaments given away here in local schools. The Gideon ministry is an arm of the local churches spreading God's Holy Bibles wherever they get an open door to take them. We're so thankful to partner with this wonderful ministry in Pendleton County.

Turner Ridge

Bro. Dale greeted the congregation, we sang Happy Birthday to those celebrating today and the past week, and also wished a Happy Anniversary to those celebrating!

During the children’s message The Lilies of the Field from Matthew 6:24-34, Bro. Dale told the kids about how many different flowers there are, and that God has provided for them the same as He will provide for us. As many are ready to return to school, remember, God will go with you.

We had prayer for all those in need. Brystal Smith-Beighle read Luke 9:23-25, followed by the Praise team special, He Is.

Bro. Dale’s message Discipleship: A Priority, was from Acts 2:41-47. “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.”-Acts 2:42. As Bro. Dale said in his message if Satan can’t keep us from getting saved he will try to stop your discipleship. We think we are busy. Don’t be too busy to be with God!
