Blanket Creek

Our meeting was a little different this week. There wasn’t a dry eye as Mike Ammerman came and shared thoughts and feelings about his dad Robert “Bob” Ammerman. He told us about his love for helping others. He had a soft spot for the down and out. He told of his love for his family and friends, and especially his love for Blanket Creek Baptist Church and how it shaped his life of love and service to the Lord. He instilled this love with his children and family. He will certainly be missed by many. Please continue to pray for this family.

Also, be in prayer for the families of Janet Race Sharp and OT Gillespie.

Remember VBS coming up soon June 24-28th 6-8:30 p.m.

Butler Christ Community

Greetings friends! We love and care about you.

Many thanks to all the workers who made last week's VBS successful. We pray that all the children who came were touched in some way by all your efforts.

All the fathers present at Sunday's service were presented with homemade cookies.

The ladies will be meeting at 7 p.m. on Friday the 21st.

We are so happy that Amanda Bruin will be bringing the message on June 23. Come hear this sweet girl speak from her heart.

Date change: the presentation of scholarships will be held on July 21, followed by a dinner in their honor.

Please pray with us for all our sick, shut ins, the lost, hurting, and suffering.

God bless each one of you.

Mt. Gilead

Since Father's Day is the third Sunday, our service will be held at 2 p.m. on June 23. Bro. Kevin Rose will be the speaker.

Everyone is welcome to the little church on the hill.

Oakland

What a sweet day as we had our "Baby Dedication" service.  We had several little ones who were encouraged to grow in the admonition of the Lord.  The parents were challenged to lead their children in the ways of the Lord.

Bro. Kevin's message reminded us of how people say one thing, but do another.  "Rules for thee, but not for me".   Read Romans 14:13.

Ladies Bible Study is June 26, 6:30 p.m.

Prayer concerns include Bobby Johnson, Janice Wolfe, Connie Jo Bowling, Pam Bruin, Linda Johnson, Barbara Sue King, Julia Pugh, Becky Williams, Brandon Taylor, Patty Jenkins, Jay Caldwell, Steve Green, Betty Workman, Edwin Powell, Alicia Hearn, shut-ins, our nation, and cancer/covid issues.

Our sympathy to loved ones of Alton Elrod and Bob Ammerman.

Turner Ridge

Sunday morning worship was filled with instruction. From the songs that were sang to the scripture that was read, completely through the message that was preached.

Our hymns – Holy Bible Book Divine, How Firm a Foundation, Wonderful Words of Life; the Praise team – I Thank God, Jesus Does; scripture read by Kiersten Beighle, Jeremiah 29:11-13, and that which supported Bro. Dale’s message – John 17:17 “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”

All of these – be it song, scripture, or message tell that the truth is from God’s word. From the kids attending school, to us as adults can pray wherever we are and for whoever we think of, and to read the bible – God’s word. We cannot be righteous by ourselves we must have Jesus.

We are in the middle of VBS as this article is being written, and it is simply amazing to watch the kids learn about Jesus!
